Using Directions: 
1.Open top cover to the left and load 4xAA batteries in the machine as per the directions on it. 
2.Connect the machine to the base as per the arrows marked so that it remains in place and the two metal wires connect with the screw on the base for the functioning on the light. 
3.After connecting the machine to the base. Put the top cover back on machine and turn right to lock it. 
4.Also recommended to keep the base jar 80% full of pepper or salt for smooth functioning. 
5.The screw under the base is used to choose how fine you need the pepper to be ground. If turned fully tight it gives the most fine quality of pepper please adjust the screw below the base according to your requirement. 
6.If machine gets stuck during use,gently shake the pepper mill as at times, the peppers may get stuck in the grinder.
